Message from the President

Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd. (MCOW) is a company that promotes offshore wind power as the next main power source in a carbon-neutral society.In December 2021, a consortium led by Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd. (MCES) received the notification from Japanese government as the operator of 3 offshore wind farms, which are;
    - Off the Coast of Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture
    - Off the Coast of Noshiro City, Mitane Town and Oga City, Akita Prefecture
    - Off the Coast of Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture
MCOW took over these projects from MCES and is currently in the process of developing Japan’s first bottom-fixed offshore wind farms in these sea areas.

Our offshore wind farms will run for 30 years on the invaluable public sea rent from the country and local communities around it. Therefore, we strongly believe it is our duty to create the social value by contributing to the solution of local communities' challenges, not only the direct economic and environmental value that the wind power farm would provide.
Under the ambitious goal of “becoming a company that transcends the framework of power generator,” we will (1) support sustainable fisheries, (2) enhance local industries and employments, and (3) pursue self-motivated and self-sustaining local cooperational initiatives by working with fishermen, local companies, local governments and other stakeholders, for eventual community empowerment.

For Japan, surrounded by the seas on all sides, offshore wind power is expected to contribute to energy security by the improvement of primary energy-sufficiency.
We will work hard to contribute to Japan's energy policy by our effort to successfully commission 3 offshore wind power projects, and to create the self-motivated and self-sustaining local communities.
